Last year (September, 2024), Together for a New Africa Mozambique (T4NA), in partnership with the Association of Final Year University Students of Mozambique (AEFUM), provided a memorable experience for students from higher education institutions in the province by organizing the 1st University Camp in the stunning Chimanimani National Park.
Participants enjoyed a diverse program filled with exciting activities. From dynamic games that encouraged interaction among the youth to campfire conversations that created lasting bonds, everything contributed to unforgettable moments. Visits to rock paintings and swimming in the breathtaking Muoha waterfall were highlights that left everyone enchanted.
The camp was also enriched by the presence of faculty members from Mutassa Higher Institute (ISMU) and Manica Polytechnic Institute (ISPM). During their exchanges by the fire, they shared valuable and inspiring knowledge with the students, further strengthening the connection between theory and practice.
The T4NA Mozambique Tutor and also provincial coordinator of AEFUM-Manica, Tércio Viola, emphasized the importance of the event for strengthening the academic community. In his remarks, he thanked the partners who made the camp possible, highlighting that the success of the event is due to mutual collaboration between institutions and local supporters. “This camp is a reflection of teamwork and commitment from everyone involved,” Viola stated.
Thriving the success of the first edition, plans are underway for a second camp in the first quarter of next year, 2025.
