Let’s keep some of her luggage when She leaves

While 2019 was ending, our Far East cousins received an uninvited guest, young, energetic stranger, and, unlike others from her kind, she was somehow ebullient with kids. The Far East was just her first stop. It turns out she really loves to travel, that is why, in no time, she was already in the West, North, and here in Africa

She is a problem, because wherever she sets foot death abounds. But from her visit, she taught us a few things that are good. Things that even when she goes away for good, we will hold dear of her. These are some of those things.

Washing hands

Washing hands is a very healthy activity, one that most of the time is ignored. She got here, it was unlikely to see one washing his or her hands, and rarely using soap in the act. Few would wash hands before and after eating and after visiting restrooms. Most of us would wash hands only during the time we go to take a bath.

Well, she made us wash our hands. Although we crave for her departure, when she finally leaves, we should keep washing our hands. Washing hands prevents illnesses and the spread of infections to others.

Avoiding unnecessary gathering

We are social beings, we need to interact in order to grow and survive. The need for interaction is not a problem, but a human obsession for interaction is the problem. We tend to overdo it and by so doing we lose our time and other resources such as money. She made it clear that she doesn’t like gatherings and we understand her very well. That is why we now gather only when we have to.

Well, she made us avoid unnecessary gatherings. Although We crave for her departure when she leaves,  we should keep avoiding unnecessary gatherings and invest resources such as time and money in more constructive activities.

Spending more time with family

Diana, Princess of Wales said ‘Family is the most important thing in the world’. This hasn’t been the case in the 21st century. We seem to be more caught up in work and even forget to make time for our beloved ones. When she got here, she insisted that families around the globe had plenty of time to be together with others. It is essential to spend time with your beloved ones.

Well, she made us spend more time with our families. Although We crave her departure when she finally leaves, we should still make time for our families, our beloved ones.

Utilizing Internet resources

The Internet has been around for more than one decade. It is enriched with resources that keep on increasing in volume every second. Tools for studies, businesses, praying, and many others are available and can simplify and revolutionize our entire ways of living. She made us realize the existence of these tools and emphasize the use of internet resources.

Well, she made us aware and she emphasizes the use of internet resources. Although we crave for her departure when she eventually leaves, we should keep using the internet as a tool for prosperity.

Praying

She made us pray, not only as individuals, but as nations and the entire globe. She made sure we are reminded that we are just beings, and we need God and gods into our lives. Prayer has been in the least of priorities to many of us. We don’t thank, ask or even simply talk to our Almighty God. Her arrival made us reflect on our relationship with our Creator and communicate with Him in the ways we see fit.

Well, she made us pray like we never prayed before. Although we crave for her departure when she eventually leaves, we should keep praying, because not only does it help in our spiritual wellbeing, but it also makes us a better people.

Conclusion

Some call her SARS-CoV-2, others call her COVID-2019. I am not sure when she will leave, but one day she will surely do. She came with a lot of luggage, many of which contain unpleasant things such as pain, sorrow, fear, hunger, anger, and many other terrifying things. That is on the one hand. On the other hand, some luggage contained pleasant things such as new skills, prayers, inventions, unity, and other goodies. The latter is the luggage we should hold dear.
